Chicago area Preserves for wildflowers

RSVP please! Indicate if you are meeting at Mach 1 gas station on the corner of Prospect and Bloomington road, or at the first preserve on the list.

This trip will be targeting wildflowers, but landscape, birds, and macro will also be possible.

The list below shows the preserves we will target. This list may change depending on new information we get closer to the date. We’re allowing 90 minutes at each preserve, some may be less or more time depending. This will be a whirlwind tour, with the potential to see a lot of different wildflowers and landscapes. We may not get to all of these, and will take input the day of from participants.

5am: Meet at Mach 1 station at Prospect and Bloomington Road.

6:30am Arrive at Raccoon Grove Nature Preserve (Monee); 8:00am: Leave.

8:30am: Arrive at Pilcher Park Nature Center (Joliet); 10am: Leave.

10:30am: Arrive at Messenger Woods Nature Preserve (Homer Glen); Noon:Leave.

1230pm: Arrive at O'hara Woods Preserve; 2pm: Leave.

230pm: Arrive at Black Partridge Forest Preserve; 4pm: Leave.

4:30: Arrive at Fermilab-go to the Margaret Pearson Interpretive Trail. NOTE: There are guard houses at each entrance. You will need to show a government ID and state you are going to the interpretive trail. We will be going to the first parking lot on the left. 6pm: Leave.

Also under consideration if one of the others above are shorter trips, or dropped the day of.
