Join us tonight to hear club member, Lisa Foster, share her passion in photography. Also tonight we’ll present images from our photo assignment #4.
Lisa Foster - Costa Rica Trip May 2023
“In May 2023 my husband and I went to Costa Rica to visit our friend who lives in the beautiful and isolated rainforest area of the southern Pacific coast near Panama. I'll share photos of the interesting insects, frogs, lizards, birds, and monkeys I saw during both day and night hiking.
I am originally from Oak Park, Illinois and now live in Sidney. I have always been interested in nature photography with a special interest in close up, macro and abstract. In addition to photography, I also enjoy hiking, gardening, maintaining our prairie patch, canning, genealogy, our dogs and chickens.”
Also tonight we hope to share results from photo assignment #4.
With this assignment, we want members to go out within 60 days prior to tonight’s meeting and take up to four photos (no more than 2 of any 1 subject). The photos should include at least one of the following categories: water, the shape “round” and/or the color blue. If you can include two or three of the categories in your photo, even better. The maximum size for a projected image is 1400 x 1050 pixels. To learn more about preparing your image for projection on the library projector, see this information. You can email the photos to the club email champaigncountycameraclub@gmail.com by noon October 21st, or bring them on a flash drive.
We hope these subjects challenge you to step out of your comfort zone, and observe your surroundings in ways you don't normally do. We prefer recent photos, but won't really enforce this. No judging, just show your work, and a brief description of where/what/how/why you took it. Leadership believes this will be a really fun way to encourage members to get out there and photograph the world around you.
If you are entering the CICCA Fall Salon in the print competition, bring your prints to tonight’s meeting.
