THE PHOTOGRAPHER’S EPHEMERIS
This is the second most recommended app by club members. The Photographer’s Ephemeris (TPE) helps you plan outdoor photography shoots in natural light, particularly landscape and urban scenes. It’s a map-centric sun and moon calculator: see how the light will fall on the land, day or night, for any location on earth. This software is available for free on the desktop, after you sign up for an account. iOS or Android.
Digital Compass for Android
When travel or lost your way then check your direction by digital compass for Android with GPS map. It’s free with ads. It looks like real compass. It shows not only North, South, East and West but also the azimuth and angle.

STELLARIUM
This software is available for free on your desktop, or for a small fee as a phone app. Stellarium Mobile is a planetarium app that shows exactly what you see when you look up at the stars. This award-winning astronomy application will let you explore the sky and identify stars, constellations, planets, comets, satellites such as the ISS, and other deep sky objects in real time in the sky above you in just a few seconds, just by pointing the phone at the sky! Club member Jim Long has recommended this software prior to planning a night shoot. iOS or Android.
ISS DETECTOR
Have you seen the International Space Station? It is visible with the naked eye! This is the easiest way to spot the station.
ISS Detector will tell you when and where to look for the ISS. You get an alarm a few minutes before a pass. You will never miss it. ISS Detector will also check if the weather conditions are right. A clear sky is perfect for spotting. iOS or Android
